Church of Saint Bernardine
The monastery and the church were built in year 1452 by the order of Sv. Janez Kapistran who was a priest of the Franciscans. He was also a peacemaker, a preacher and confessor and even a monastic reformer. His mentor was Sv. Bernardin Sienski. Soon Kapistran became the most influential folk speaker of the time and before he passed away, he dedicated his church to his teacher, as mentioned Sv. Bernardin.
However both, the church and the monastery were demolished around the year 1806.
What remains of the former structure is a well-preserved and gorgeous bell tower, the church presbytery and piece of a wall complete with arches. After the years many other attractions sprouted up around the area which made it a popular tourist hot spot. That’s why we strongly recommend you see the spectacular place because it sure is a spot for those epic Instagram photos to be made.
